Oak Brook was originally a small agricultural community called Fullersburg. Two families, the Fullers and the Butlers, shaped its development. Arriving in 1834, Ben Fuller was the first settler in the area. The Fullers founded a small settlement and the Butlers developed a model community; soon other farmers and merchants flocked to the area and a community was established.

The history of Burr Ridge began in the garage of a Bartlett’s Estates resident. An official decision was made to incorporate the Village of Harvester on October 30, 1956. Several years later, in August 1962, the name of the community was changed to Burr Ridge. Today this community is recognized as an ideal place to live and continues to expand and improve.
